About Us
"Nireno"
is the kennel prefix of the Morrison family, who are residents of
the northern suburbs of Sydney. We also have a small farm just
outside of Oberon, NSW, where we and the dogs can have a bit more
space to play in. Golden retrievers have been part of our lives
for the past 16 years. While the whole family is involved with
the dogs, their main carer is Caron. Except of course our
youngest son, Ian, who exhibits his Welsh Corgi. Yoda, being a
working dog would say she looks after us, but that's another
story.
Our dogs and the puppies thrive in our busy family environment, and are very well socialised. We occasionally have puppies to go to suitable new homes, and we go to considerable lengths to prepare them for the best possible adjustments to their new lives. All dogs that leave us are happy, healthy and emotionally secure. They are not available to anyone who cannot provide them with the same level of care, love, safety that they have with us.
Family and work commitments prevent us from participating in show events as often as we would like to, but we still get out occasionally. Showing dogs is a relatively new experience for us, and we still have a lot to learn. So far, Ian is the family's best handler with several Challenges, one Best of Breed, Class in Group several times, and a number of Junior Handler placings.
